Album: BANG STREETS

Released: 2006

After the local success of Rank & File and some very successful shows with H-town superstar Paul Wall, G-regular and RDK were ready to step it up a notch; and also in search of a steady line up of musicians. They were ready to hit the road full time and while going to school in San Marcos they came across Robert Cherry, a young and very talented guitar player ready to rock and roll. Next, they recruited long time friend and drinking partner Geoff Leary who was known for his drumming abilities but just needed to be brought out of retirement. To finalize the crew, Cherry hollered at his old school pal, Casper who can slap a bass like no other. They hit the road with an onslaught of rockin’ and hip hoppin’ songs and quickly began stirring up a buzz around Texas. Soon enough they realized that they needed a new CD to back up their intense live show. They shopped around and struck gold when they found producer Mack Damon in San Antonio, TX. After about 6 months of recording and not to mention another slammin’ track with Paul Wall, “Bang Streets” was born and 57 State was prepared to take the world by storm. Check it out here!!

Album: COMN' THRU

Released: 1999
Label: DEA II FADE PRODUCTIONS

This is the album that started it all. G-regular and RDK were juniors in high school and MUDU (G-regular’s brother) was a few years older in college. MUDU had a small studio in his house where he had worked on his solo project for a few years until he decided to form the group, 57 State. This was a long project and it was more like a big party than a strict work environment, with non-stop groupies and friends comn’ thru to show support and of course drink our beer; but there were also some crazy and stressful times. MUDU was “the man” when it came to producing the tracks, being the engineer, and a recording artist on the album. The album also had features from many local artists as well. Comn’ Thru wrapped up in late 1999 and 57 State was ready to tear up the town with performances all around Houston and public appearances at various night clubs. The album soon became a local success attracting interest from Houston’s own underground rap label, Swishahouse. Soon enough people all around Houston were beginning to know who 57 State was.
